Common Difficulties For Young People

Many young people in schools have troubles that they are not able to share with adults. When they talk to their friends about their feelings the words don’t come out the right way
and their friends don’t always listen well. This causes them to internalise their troubles and keep their feelings bottled up inside until they explode. This may get them into trouble in
lessons and cause relationships with their friends to break down.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy deals creatively with ways of overcoming problems. We do not linger on the problem as this can make it harder to solve. We seek ways that people are familiar with and build upon them. Our counsellors keep everything they are told strictly confidential except where it indicates someone may be at risk of harm or when the young person requests others to be told.
