Pam qualified as a Registered Mental Health nurse in 1985 and then worked in a variety of mental health care settings including acute, psychiatric intensive care, forensic psychiatry and rehabilitation. She then gained a degree in education to become a Registered Nurse Tutor, and then completed a Master of Science in Applications of Psychology. In 2002 she was awarded a post-graduate diploma in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and used this approach when she worked part-time with a family therapy team based within primary care services in the West Midlands. Currently, Pam is a Senior University Lecturer teaching on a variety of education programmes for health care professionals, and she also volunteers for a Birmingham based charity that provides counselling for individuals, as one of their volunteer counsellors, using the Solution Focused Approach. Pam lives in Worcestershire and enjoys a variety of hobbies including various crafts, church bell-ringing and takes a keen interest in the modern folk scene.
