What is Solution Focused Brief Therapy
Solution Focused Brief Therapy is known to show quick results. It works by carefully guiding the client to switch from focusing on what is wrong to maximising on what is going well. It is very different from the more traditional counselling approach where clients are required to talk about their past problems over a long period before any positive results are seen.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy addresses the issues or problems the client is facing now and concentrates on what they want to change in their lives. Working closely with the
client, the counsellor helps them to find their own strategies for making these changes. The counsellor will identify strengths and resources that the client may already possess but not be aware of. Many clients find Solution Focused Brief Therapy very positive and energising. Many leave the
sessions with a fresh outlook and determination to work towards change.
